Nature of the project
PictureGrove is a non-commercial research and beta project. The website does not sell goods or services, contains no advertising and uses no external analytics or tracking services.
Account data
When a PictureGrove account is created, data such as name or display name, email address, role or permission status and technical login information may be stored. This data is required to provide access to protected areas and functions.
Login sessions and cookies
PictureGrove uses technically necessary cookies for authentication. The session cookie “PHPSESSID” maintains the current login, has no fixed expiry and is valid for the browser session; the server-side session ends after 24 hours of inactivity. If the “Remember me” option is selected, PictureGrove also sets the “pg_remember” cookie. It enables automatic sign-in and is valid for up to 90 days at a time. After each successful automatic sign-in, the token is replaced and a new 90-day period begins. The cookie contains a randomly generated token, but no password or email address. Only a hash of the secret part of the token is stored on the server. On logout, the cookie is deleted and the associated token is revoked. Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure and user-friendly management of logins and access rights. These cookies are not used for advertising or tracking.
Connection with ipernity
When a user connects PictureGrove with their ipernity account, ipernity provides PictureGrove with an authorization token. PictureGrove does not store the ipernity password. The token is stored in encrypted form and is used to synchronize selected actions from PictureGrove with ipernity, for example adding or removing favorites.
Image interactions
When interactive functions are used, technical information such as image ID, account, time and action may be processed. Favorite actions are transmitted to ipernity so that they become visible in the respective ipernity account.
Server log files
When the website is accessed, the hosting provider may generate technically necessary server log files, for example containing IP address, time, requested page, browser identification and technical status code. These data are used for technical delivery, security and error analysis.
No advertising, no tracking
PictureGrove does not use advertising networks, personalized advertising, social media tracking pixels or external analytics services.
Rights of data subjects
Subject to the applicable legal requirements, data subjects may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection.
Changes
This privacy notice may be updated as PictureGrove evolves or as new functions are added.
